By protecting land along rivers and streams, trails and greenways preserve important natural habitats, protect plant and animal species, prevent soil erosion, and filter pollution caused by agricultural and road runoff.
Preservation
Preserving historic places and providing access to them helps us understand the history of our community. Historic rail corridors in Manchester remind us of the importance of this mode of transportation to our city.
